L’Arbre

SNJ Marienthal

This project was commissioned by the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Culture for the SNJ Marienthal in Luxembourg. Inspired by the surrounding forest, the sculpture simplifies the form of a pine tree into a minimalist shape. Its reflective surface transforms it into a glowing arrow, standing out against the natural landscape. Appearing to float above the ground, it seems to be lifted by the sacred energy of the monastery’s past. Positioned alongside historic buildings and, due to its angular shape, it reflects the chapel’s bell tower and turret, creating a harmonious fusion of architecture and nature. The sculpture has become Marienthal’s new emblem: a beacon of light visible from afar, a gathering place, and a totem for the youth of Marienthal.
